　　10月19日，习近平主席赴英国进行国事访问。英国媒体早早就开始了预热，网友们也有刷爆屏的趋势。BBC、卫报、泰晤士报几乎所有的主流媒体都刊发了相关文章并引起热议。在卫报一篇《大卫•卡梅伦为了中国把跟美国决裂的危险放到了一边》（David Cameron dismisses risk of rift with US over China）下，网友评论多达22页数百条。在另一篇《中国大使在习近平访问前说：不要用“人权”来干扰》（Don't interfere on human rights, says Chinese envoy before Xi's UK visit）下，回复更是五花八门，甚至出现网友舌战“西藏问题”的情景，小编摘译如下：

　　If the UK would only lessen the restrictions on Chinese tourists coming here with all there money to spend, the UK would benefit enormously. Currently the Chines get a EU visa which allow s them to visit Rome, Paris, Berlin etc etc - but not London. Many Chinese choose to buy the EU one rathe then the separate UK one. Seems like the UK is shooting itself in the foot again. Again. Again.

　　The world has two great economic powers in 2015, the US and China. It would be foolish to be at the beck and call of one whilst cold shouldering the other. 　　I don't understand why the British government are constantly attacking countries such as Russia as being dictatorships and oppressive while they love to praise the Saudis and the Chinese all the time. Is it only about geopolitics? Because Russia politically is more free than either China and Saudi Arabia but it has been criticized much more for a very long time by the British elite. It just seems weird and it makes other countries unable to take the British government seriously in the field of human rights when some countries are judged very hard like Russia while others such as China and the Saudis are judged positively.

　　I bet most people here complaining about the human rights record of China have plenty of products in their home (or on their person) made in China. A bit like those people who complain about US/Global corporations avoiding tax and yet use amazon like it's going out of fashion - because it is so 'convenient'.

　　Do we really invite national leaders to the UK to "challenge" them over issues? That sounds like being less than diplomatic - in which case, why invite them in the first place?

　　If the PM raises human rights in a polite way I think that's enough. After all, if we really wanted to get tough with China over human rights we'd have trade sanctions (and I guess no one is seriously advocating that). We should try to raise issues whilst still trying to improve relations, rather than focus on the former to the detriment of the latter.
